Fulham Palace Weddings: A Timeless Celebration of my Love

On the picturesque autumn day of November 28th, 2023, my partner and I embarked on a journey of love and togetherness as we exchanged vows and became husbands. Our Fulham Palace wedding was a celebration of love, elegance, and cherished memories that will forever hold a special place in our hearts.

THE VENUE: FULHAM PALACE

Tucked amidst lush greenery and steeped in history, Fulham Palace provided the perfect backdrop for our special day. From the charming Sherlocks room where our ceremony took place, to the elegant Terricks room for our canapé reception, and the grandeur of the Great Hall where dinner was served, every corner of Fulham Palace exuded timeless beauty and romance.

THE MENU: A CULINARY JOURNEY

Our wedding day was not only a celebration of love but also a feast for the senses, thanks to the exquisite culinary offerings curated specially for us by Sarah Turner, the head of development Chef at Social Pantry. The canapés reception delighted guests with a tantalizing array of flavours, from the decadent Scallop with Pine Nut and Caviar to the savoury Fillet of Beef with Mushroom Ketchup. Vegan options like the Mushroom Truffle Choux Bun and the Vegan Artichoke & Caramelised Onion Arancini showcased the creativity and attention to detail that went into every aspect of our wedding menu.

For dinner, guests were treated to a plated bread course with brown butter and radish, followed by a starter of Mushroom Éclaire with Egg Custard and Oyster & Shitake Mushrooms. The main course featured Cotswold Chicken with Truffle & Berkswell Potatoes, while dessert delighted the palate with Saffron, Orange Blossom Rice pudding brûlée with Pistachio, and Baclava crumb. And of course, no wedding would be complete without a stunning Pistachio wedding cake, adding a sweet touch to our celebration.

PERSONAL TOUCHES: MAKING OUR DAY UNIQUE

Our Fulham Palace wedding was filled with personal touches that reflected our love story and personalities. In the entrance hall, guests were greeted with pictures from our dates throughout the year, serving as a visual journey of our relationship. The guest book and audio guest book allowed friends and family to leave us heartfelt messages and well-wishes, creating memories that we will cherish for a lifetime.

During the ceremony, my partner walked down the aisle with my mum to the beautiful strains of “Young and Beautiful” played by a string duo, setting the tone for a day filled with love and romance. The tableware, curated by myself, featured elegant calligraphy menus and silk ribbons with guests’ names, adding a touch of sophistication to the table setting.

To ensure that every detail was perfect, we donated a full new box of Christmas decorations to Fulham Palace, ensuring that the venue tied in perfectly with our colour scheme and theme. And as the night drew to a close, we bid farewell to our guests with our favourite cocktail, a lemon drop martini, and a sparkler exit, creating a magical end to a perfect day.

A crucial part of our wedding day was the talented photographer, Kayleigh, whose warm presence and passion for her craft ensured that every moment was beautifully captured. From the intimate moments shared between us to the joy and laughter of our guests, Kayleigh’s photographs captured the essence and glory of our wedding day, allowing us to relive the magic and beauty for years to come.

From start to finish, our wedding day exuded a vibe of timeless elegance. We wanted to create a celebration that we would look back on with fondness and joy, and every detail was carefully curated to ensure that our day was nothing short of perfection. The string duo playing classical melodies, the transition of linen colours from Lily urbane to wheat for dinner, and the warm glow of gold table lamps and dimmed chandeliers all contributed to the timeless and almost traditional atmosphere that we had envisioned.
