Introducing my most challenging project yet: my own wedding. With a fiancée who trusted my decisions wholeheartedly, I found myself grappling with endless possibilities, changing my hire order countless times. After a year of inspiration and curation, selecting from an array of amazing items, and deciding on the aesthetic for our forever album was no easy task. We aimed for timeless elegance with a contemporary twist, resulting in a perfect day I wish could last ten times longer. Fulham Palace, with its historic charm and stunning gardens, was the perfect setting for our bespoke wedding — a day of elegance designed to match our vision. As soon as we saw it, we knew it was the right place to celebrate our love story, blending the palace’s rich heritage with the personal touches that made the day uniquely ours.
From the beginning, we worked closely with our wedding planner, who specialises in historic venues, to create a timeless yet intimate celebration. Fulham Palace, renowned for its beautiful architecture and versatile spaces, provided a stunning backdrop. The ceremony took place in the palace’s Victorian chapel, a serene and majestic setting, with its intricate stained glass and detailed wood carvings adding a sense of history and grandeur to the moment.
It was important to us to blend the historic charm of the venue with modern elements. We chose a colour palette of soft whites, gentle greys, and blush tones to complement the blooming palace gardens. This created a cohesive, elegant atmosphere throughout the day, from the ceremony to the reception.
Every detail was thoughtfully planned. Our custom-designed invitations mirrored the palace’s architecture, and the floral arrangements featured English roses and peonies from the palace’s own gardens, which added a personal touch. The reception, held in the Great Hall, was transformed into an elegant garden party, with lush floral installations bringing the outdoors inside.
For the catering, we focused on local, seasonal ingredients, offering a modern British menu that perfectly suited the event’s refined feel. Each dish was paired with wines chosen to enhance the dining experience, making it a culinary journey our guests wouldn’t forget.
The evening was filled with heartfelt speeches and music that had special meaning to us, ensuring a joyous atmosphere on the dance floor. A live band played a mix of classic hits and contemporary favourites, keeping everyone entertained. To end the night, a stunning fireworks display lit up the palace grounds, adding a magical finale to the day.
Looking back, our wedding at Fulham Palace not only highlighted the venue’s beauty as a premier wedding destination but also reflected our love and the personal touches that made the celebration truly ours.
