the details
Will and Rebecca wanted a wedding that honoured tradition while still feeling relaxed, joyful, and personal. With a Catholic ceremony at Most Holy Trinity followed by a full venue transformation at Old Sessions House, the challenge lay in managing logistics across multiple locations — without the day ever feeling rushed or overly structured.
They wanted guests to feel looked after, the atmosphere to build naturally, and the celebration to peak with energy rather than formality.
Events by James led the planning and coordination of the day, overseeing all logistics, supplier management, and guest movement across locations.
Key elements of our approach included:
→ Managing a multi-location schedule, including a central London church ceremony and guest transport via Routemaster buses
→ Creating a smooth arrival experience at Old Sessions House, with drinks served on the iconic staircase to immediately reset the tone
→ Coordinating a seated dinner in the Great Room with speeches thoughtfully paced between courses
→ Delivering a complete room reset post-dinner, transforming the space seamlessly from dining to dancing
→ Leading the evening into a high-energy party with live DJ and sax, late-night pizza, and a packed dance floor until the final song
Behind the scenes, timing, stock management, and supplier breakdowns were carefully managed — allowing the experience itself to feel effortless for both the couple and their guests.
