Overview

Not every celebration needs a hundred and fifty guests and a ballroom. This summer we built a complete wedding in the Walled Garden at Fulham Palace to show exactly what an intimate marquee celebration can be.

The idea was simple: one beautiful garden, one considered marquee, and a single long table dressed as if forty of your favourite people were about to sit down. Botanics filled the structure with garden florals, Mae Dae draped it, and the afternoon light did the rest.

Everything was real and working — Bovingdons on catering and service, a bar pouring Amie wine and Bajo, hand-lettered stationery at every place, a cake by Anna Lewis — because a design only convinces when it would genuinely hold a wedding.

If you've been dreaming of something smaller held somewhere green — a marquee that feels like a garden dinner party rather than a big top — this is the blueprint, and the Walled Garden is one of the loveliest corners of London to build it in.

The Walled Garden

Fulham Palace's walled botanic garden is a rare thing in London: green on every side, centuries of planting, and real privacy. The marquee sat inside it like it had always been there.

The Marquee, Considered

Built by Dynamic Marquees and treated as a room rather than a tent: draped by Mae Dae, lit and powered by RG Jones, furnished from House of Furn's collection.

One Long Table

Linen from Just 4 Linen, tableware from The Luxe Collection, calligraphy and stationery by Studio MarieClaire, and Botanics' garden florals running the full length.

Food, Wine and Cake

Bovingdons catered and served; BLNCD built the bar, pouring Amie wine and Bajo; the cake came from Anna Lewis Cake Design.

Captured Properly

Photographed by Chloe Lowe and filmed by Splinter Unit, with hair and make-up by Ruby Maebh — so couples can see exactly how this feels before they book it.
